The Performing Artist Series feature a more parallel neck profile with a slimmer taper at the 12th fret, giving the guitar comfortable width in the first few frets plus a faster feel for lead-work up the neck. The new smaller bridge design reduces mass and increases the soundboard’s tonal response. This is an excellent sounding acoustic, with a very round tone and good projection. Plugged in the tone is more natural than most other saddle transducers I’ve used and while the EQ’ing is limited, the mid-scoop design can change the character of the tone very distinctly, from tones similar to a dreadnought, jumbo, or even a parlor size.

What do you guys think? The TremoVerb is very different sounding from the Solo I own both and more. I like this head a lot it’s got reverb and tremelo but it does not have the same fat character when you’re crunching as a Solo model. There is a lot of opinion-smoke blowing around about the Dual Rects. Most of it IMHO is crap from people who can’t afford one or don’t have a clue about working all those knobs.

The rectifer changes AC from the wall to DC for your amp or PC or stereo or whatever The rectifier can either be a tube or a solid state piece. The tube rectifier has a characteristic that when you play, the voltage in the amp goes down a bit. This is called “sag”. The note compresses and sustains, and the amp sounds warm and singy. Two rectifiers keep some of this sag, but lessen it’s effect. Three lessens it even more. Many metal players prefer less sag as it can make notes bleed together when picking very fast, but like tube rectifiers as they sound a bit “warmer”.

The Roadster is also the amp that started the Rectifier Reborn revolution with its improved clean channel, series effects loop and optimised preamp voicings. It could also be thought of as a four-channel Rectifier Reborn with a couple of extra modes; but it has devotees of its own for its slightly smoother dark chocolate voicing.

What is surprising about the Roadster is that it actually feels quite vintage overall. Ten of its twelve modes if we include the SLO-derived Vintage modes are inspired by at least 28 year-old circuits. Even with Channel Four dedicated to Modern my current preference , the Roadster still gives us three very organic, classic-sounding channels.

Even Vintage mode on the third and fourth channels seems to have taken on a slow-cooked beef low end; perfectly balanced between loose and tight. The low end in Vintage and Modern modes is a shade or two less robust than the Triple Rectifier I tested recently but it still feels like slamming a vault door. This is a sound that — once experienced — is impossible to forget. Meanwhile, sustained notes almost seem to fold over themselves with cascaded-gain liquidity, and high midrange penetrates like a searing blowtorch flame.

Having the issue in front of the amp would be something entirely different. Of course using time based effects in front of an amp with anything more than light gain does not sound good at all. In front of an amp with only a clean sound, it should sound good. But, it will likely not sound exactly the same as plugging the guitar directly into the amp for a number of reasons; i.

Therefore, using the effects in the loop is necessary. Try this… Plug the guitar direct into the amp to eliminate any other variables. Connect only one Eventide pedal into the loop. With the pedal bypassed off it should sound no different than the guitar plugged in direct with nothing in the loop. With the pedal engaged you should hear the effect use the mix knob to set the level and you should hear your pure amp tone mixed with the effect without any latency or artifacts.

Check that the input light is green not red if it lights up red only sometimes it may be ok but all the time the signal is too hot. If you only hear the effect at this point and no dry signal, it is a serial loop, not parallel. If this is the case, I would suggest getting a Suhr mini mix II. If this works with only one pedal in the loop then get a splitter and a mini mixer like I suggested.
